Jak se k nám dostaneteTRAVELLING by airplane Thanks to its location at the very heart of Central Europe, getting to Brno is simple, whether by plane, train, coach, bus or car. There is a small airport in Brno but only seasonal and limited number of regular flights are operated. If you travel by air, you will come to Prague airport-Ruzyně or Vienna (Austria). It is approximately 220 km from Prague to Brno and 120 km from Vienna. There is a very good connection between Prague and Brno either by train or by coach. There are some buses operating directly from Prague airport to Brno. The whole journey lasts app. 3,5 hours. Ticket price differs according to the company. The cheapest ticket you can buy is app. € 10. If you will fly with Czech airlines you can buy this ticket as part of the ticket. We suggest you to use "Student Agency" which goes every hour directly from the airport. They have a small office at terminal 1 - Departure Hall on the second floor. Another possibility is to take bus leaving from FLORENC bus station (in the city centre). From the airport you can take either public transport or taxi. If you decide to take a taxi, ask the driver about the price first. Ask for a list o recommended companies at the airport. In case you take public transport, first go to the Transport Information Centre located in the Arrival Hall at the airport. It is open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and here you can get all the necessary information including plan of the transport system in Prague and tickets. You can also buy tickets from the yellow machines at the stops or from the bus driver. A single transfer ticket costs 24 Czech crowns and is valid for 60 minutes on week days and 90 minutes during weekends from the moment you get on the bus and validate it in a marking machine. The bus no. 119 takes you to the city centre and leaves approx. every 10 minutes and the journey to the last station DEJVICKÁ lasts app. 20 minutes. On the bus, do not forget to validate your ticket in the marking machine. When you get off the bus, turn to the left and you will see the metro entrance. Then you take a metro to Florenc station. You have to change once at MUSTEK station. At Florenc you have to look for the exit marked "AUTOBUSOVE NADRAZI", that is "bus station". You can buy ticket at the counters inside the hall. It costs about 150 Czech crowns. On the ticket there is the number of the bus stop. You have to be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the departure. The journey to Brno takes two and a half hours, the bus does not stop until Brno. In case you travel via Vienna there are direct coaches and trains from the airport or from Vienna-Mitte bus station. This also makes it an ideal home base for becoming acquainted with the main cities in the region, in particular Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Krakow and Bratislava. TRAVELLING BY BUS AND BY TRAIN In case you travel by bus you will arrive either at "ZVONARKA" bus station or at "Benešova tř. hotel GRAND" bus terminal. Both are situated in the city center.
