Institute for Scientific Information is a university department (Section 22, subsection 1c of the Act no. 111/1998 of Coll.), providing information  background for the teaching, and science and research processes at the university, especially operation and expansion of the audiovisual appliances and  didactic devices, publishing text books, and scientific and special-purpose publications, running the information centre, study hall and magazine reading room, and administration of standard and electronic information sources, and making them available.
